Vetri (வெற்றி) is a previous-year-question practice platform for competitive-exam aspirants. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it. We've tried to keep it plain.
The short version
- We do not show advertisements and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We collect only what's needed to run your account and your study experience.
What we collect
Account information you provide: name, email address and/or phone number, and optionally your target exam and district. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Study activity generated as you use the app: questions answered, scores, streaks, bookmarks, mistakes saved for revision, and similar progress data. This powers your dashboard, analytics, and reminders.
Device & technical data: if you enable notifications, a push subscription token for your browser/device; basic logs needed for security and reliability.
How we use it
To provide and personalise your practice (analytics, weakness detection, reminders), to operate accounts and authentication, to send notifications you opt into, to process voluntary contributions or subscriptions, and to keep the service secure and working.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services required to operate Vetri:
- Google — only if you choose Google Sign-In, to authenticate you.
- Razorpay — only if you make a payment or contribution, to process it. We do not store your card details; Razorpay handles them.
- Web push services (your browser's push provider) — only if you enable notifications, to deliver them.
We may disclose information if required by law. Beyond the above, we do not share your data.
Cookies & local storage
We use your device's local storage to keep you signed in (authentication tokens) and to remember preferences such as theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention & your choices
We keep your data while your account is active. You can update your profile, change your email/password, and turn notifications on or off at any time from your profile. To request access to or deletion of your account and data, contact us at the address below.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed (never in plain text), connections are served over HTTPS, and access to sensitive operations is rate-limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Vetri is intended for exam aspirants. If you are below the age of majority in your region, please use Vetri with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
